Indian Punjabi singer and Congress leader Sadhu Musa Wala has been shot dead in Mansa district of Punjab state.
Local police have confirmed his death.
Mansa Civil Surgeon Dr Ranjit Singh told the BBC’s Arvind Chhabra: “Three people, including Sadhu Musa Wala, were taken to hospital. Sadhu was pronounced dead at the scene. The rest of the injured have been shifted to Rajendra Hospital in Patiala. Sadhu has four to five bullet marks on his body. He was shot in the chest and leg.
Bhattanda Range Inspector General of Police Shiv Kumar Verma told BBC Punjabi correspondent Arvind Chhabra that he was investigating the incident.
At the moment, information about this incident is coming to light. A moving vehicle was fired upon and the incident took place near Jawaharke village.

They were attacked near the village of Jawahar at 5.30 pm
According to police, Lawrence Bishnoi gang was involved in the incident and has claimed responsibility from Canada.
Four security guards were deployed along with Sadhu Musa Wala, two of whom were withdrawn due to security concerns on a local memorial day.

Thirty bullet casings of three different guns, measuring nine millimeters and four millimeters, were found at the scene.
It should be noted that Punjab is currently ruled by the Aam Aadmi Party which is being severely criticized after the assassination of Sadhu Musa Wala.
Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal tweeted, “Sadhu Musa Wala’s assassination is very sad and shocking. I have just spoken to the Chief Minister of Punjab. Those involved will be severely punished.
On the other hand, former Punjab Chief Minister Capt. Amrinder Singh tweeted that the brutal murder of Sadhu Musa Wala was shocking. He wrote that the law and order situation in Punjab has completely deteriorated and the criminals have no concern for the law.
He further wrote that the Punjab government of Aam Aadmi Party has failed miserably and no one is safe in Punjab now.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi wrote on Twitter that he was saddened by the death of a rising Congress leader and a talented artist. He offered his condolences to his family and fans.
Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson Dr Sambat Swaraj said that Kejriwal’s government in Punjab first removed the security of Sadhu Musa Wala and then released the secret list of all those whose security had been removed. In a way it was an invitation to the killers that we have removed security, now come and do your job.
